This temple was built during different periods by a lot of Kings, starting with Senusret I in the Middle Kingdom, and continued into the Ptolemaic period.

You'll be on a day trip to Abu Simbel city to visit Abu Simbel Temples, built by King Ramses II . Twice a year, the sun rays of early morning penetrate to the inner sanctuary to illuminate the King's face to celebrate his birthday and coronation day. Another Temple is taking place in the same area, also built by the Great Ramses, but dedicated to Nefertari's favorite wife. These temples were about to sink due to the Nile water level increase, but they were saved at the right time; UNESCO had launched a saving campaign, and it had been moved to a safe location.
